Today, we being a new series of Extraordinaires interviews around our upcoming Wellness Retreat in Tulum. Kicking it off is the Alejandro Glatt, Creative Director of Y’AM, a boutique arts & music festival designed to share experiences, meet new people, and celebrate life. YAM and ICBRKR’s missions couldn’t be more aligned, and we’re so excited to introduce you to this inspiring Music Lover and Urban Explorer. Read on, and get excited for our Tulum Wellness Retreat in partnership with Ahau Collection Tulum, Eva Kaczor, and Birds of Mind.
Ale, you are the perfect representation of ICBRKR’s mission to BRK THE MOLD. Why did you decide to become a visual artist, an entrepreneur, an event producer, and philanthropist?
Since I was young, I always had the feeling and goal to connect people, to imagine concepts and make them happen, to be not just a dreamer, but a doer. I love creating concepts. To have an idea, and experience it a few weeks later. It’s just a way of seeing life.
My mission in this world is to figure out how to materialize my ideas and showcase to others what’s on my mind. I really enjoy producing experiences because that’s when people can really understand me, understand why I care, and why I’m here, from the paper to the main stage.
Can you tell us more about your social impact? We know you’re hosting an ocean impact event in Tulum in January. Why the ocean? What other causes are you passionate about?
One of my favorite projects is called Y’AM, a boutique festival that is celebrated around the world by the ocean. In Hebrew, Y’AM means ‘ocean.’ It is a platform where artists, musicians, and like-minded people gather together to celebrate life. Taking advantage of this opportunity and space where open-minded people gather, I enjoy transmitting the messages that I have to the world, my intentions, and concerns about it.
That’s why in this edition of Y’AM, we are partnering with two organizations that focus on creating awareness about our oceans: Restore Coral, an NGO that focuses on restoring the massive coral bleaching that is happening; and Water Matters, a plastic-free organization that packs water in cardboard, and supports local Mexican communities.
This Y’AM TULUM will be a conscious celebration to restore the coral reef, and will take place in epic locations in the beautiful Caribbean. It will be game-changing. Expect a high-end, moving experience in wellness, awareness, and music resonating around the world!
We can’t wait! Can you tell us what you love about ICBRKR?
I’m a solo traveler who enjoys discovering and exploring new destinations. At least once a year, I take a few months to travel and face new challenges. With a platform like ICBRKR, I’m able to browse and discover what I enjoy in a super easy and fast way, meet like-minded people, and create even more connections. Communities are meant to expand; with bridges like ICBRKR, everything flows smoother!
Aww, what a beautiful way to put it! To conclude, we have 3 quick-fire questions: what is your favorite song right now, your favorite city in the world, and your guilty pleasure?
My favorite song is “Sol Clap” by Quantic. It definitely makes me feel and shake.
My favorite city is Tel Aviv.
And from the moment I touch Tulum until I leave, I’m always barefoot, everywhere, at any time. Sandy hair, feet, and soul!
Fantastic! Thanks for enlightening and inspiring us, Ale. We look forward to seeing you in Tulum!
