Chloe, we can’t get enough of your restaurant recommendations. What made you become a food blogger?
I became a blogger about 7 years ago because I have always loved restaurants, cooking, and experiences that revolve around food. I was spending a huge amount of time writing curated lists of recommendations for people who came to me asking for restaurant advice. Then finally one day, I thought it might make more sense to centralize everything on a blog and share the links with my friends.
Another thing I felt was seriously lacking at the time was the ability to see photos of the food and space in a restaurant, so I started incorporating those into my writing to help people better understand what type of experience they might have and what dishes might look good to them. This was all until Instagram came around, of course, and now that has really taken over the food space. People eat with their eyes first!
What is it you like most about ICBRKR?
What I love about ICBRKR is the creation of a community of diverse people with differing passions, backgrounds, and experiences who all want to lead adventurous lives and have a positive impact. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of a community like that?
Amen! And how do you BRK THE MOLD and make an impact in your daily life?
I love sharing my experiences with people, and that is one of the reasons I got started with my blog and with social media. When I have a great meal or go on a memorable trip, I want others to be able to have that experience too, whether through my writing, my photos, or actually going and eating a dish or staying in a hotel. It’s so gratifying when they enjoy it as well.
Speaking of enjoyment… what’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is a day with no plans. In all of our over-scheduled, busy lives, it’s hard to find a day with no commitments. When I do, to me, that is a true luxury. Waking up to no alarm and then see where the day takes me!
We hear ya! We’re so excited to read your great recs. Thanks for answering our questions, Chloe!
