TAROT HOROSCOPES — JULY 2020
From Aries to Pisces, get your Taroscope every month by The Wellness Foundry's Fiongal Greenlaw.
There is a lunar eclipse (the third of the year) in Capricorn on July 5th. Capricorn is never work-shy but instead finds comfort in industry and relishes the growth it brings. So, this Full Moon will shine a light on your successes, our long-term goals and plans. However, it will also illuminate where in your life you’ve cut corners or been slipshod.
Thankfully, Mercury turns direct from July 12th, so you will finally be able to address any communication issues. This month will also be the perfect time for reflection; this is in part to do with the New Moon in Cancer on July 20th, but also as Pluto continues to be in retrograde for the whole month, creating the perfect space for inner transformation.
VI of Swords, Temperance, The Sun
This month is not a period for extremes, which, unsurprisingly is a command not easily followed by a fiery ram! Instead, pace yourself over the next thirty-one days; there is no need to charge ahead and wear yourself out. The appearance of The Sun card is indicative of good-natured fun and enjoyment, so be sure to take the time to smell the roses. I suggest that you just go with the flow; I know how much you Aries love to be in the driving seat, but maybe it’s time to kick back and be a passenger for a while.
X of Pentacles, The Moon, Ace of Pentacles
‘The light at the end of the tunnel’ could be the collective mantra for these three cards. The Ace of Pentacles shines like a beacon of promise after the darkness and uncertainty of The Moon. This month Taurus, you will be at the end of one cycle and the beginning of the other, particularly in practical matters such as health and wealth – a subject close to a celestial bull’s heart. Therefore, do not be surprised if you find yourself moving from one project to another, or even from one job to another!
VII of Wands, III of Swords, V of Swords
Eek! Hold onto your hats this month dear Gemini, for it’s likely to be a bumpy ride. Although the cards indicate that you should stay clear of those that would trample over your sensibilities and beliefs, try not to find yourself in defensive mode in July. Hence you should not let the opinions or attitudes of others colour your mood. This will be no easy task, as you will feel overly sensitive at times, forcing you to tread a fine line between conflict aversion and outward hostility; as ever with Gemini, there are two sides to every coin.
The Hanged Man, X of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles
That old saying, ‘Be careful what you wish for’ springs to mind with these three cards. The X and Queen of Pentacles indicate abundance and material gains for July, but your task, Cancer, is not to get too weighed down by it. Yes, it is always nice to reap the fruits of our labour and luxuriate in the finer things in life, but like all that gold around Mr T’s neck: that shit gets heavy and slows you down. Like a crab finding a shiny penny on the beach, do not let yourself get distracted by all that glitters.
VI of Cups, IX of Wands, X of Swords
The IX of Wands has appeared more than any other card from the Tarot for this month’s Taroscopes. IX of Wands has a tense, battle-worn energy around it, and this will express itself in different ways, dependant on the astrological house in which it appears. For Leo, the IX of Wands highlights that it is against a lion’s nature to be cooped up too long. As the most gregarious and social of the zodiacal signs, this enforced isolation can show itself as wistfulness and frustration. As a result, it’s vital to give an appropriate outlet for your exuberant and expressive side this month: paint, write, create, dance and plan.
King of Wands, The Hierophant, V of Pentacles
The King of Wands and The Hierophant suggest themes of authority, leadership and visionaries. The Hierophant sits on the proverbial throne, whereas the V of Pentacles shows those who are downtrodden and seeking solace. But which role are you taking this month? Well, you could find yourself administering alms, in the form of emotional support and comfort, or indeed, you could be looking for reassurance and encouragement in the arms of another. Always remember, you reap what you sow, so continually extend the hand of generosity this month, dear celestial Virgins.
VI of Swords, Queen of Swords, Judgement
You’re moving onto calmer waters this month, which should be music to your ears fellow Libras! For no other sign in the zodiac likes balance and harmony quite you, celestial scales. The 6 of Swords and Judgement in conjunction speaks of moving forward and new chapters. And this change of direction isn’t a randomly stumbled over, for the Queen of Swords indicates a concerted and decisive effort. The Queen of Swords and Libra are both ruled by air, showing that this strong-minded attitude is highly aspected, and you are undoubtedly well-equipped for this fresh start.
The Lovers, IX of Wands, II of Cups
It is well known that Scorpio is one of the most sexual and sometimes the most jealous of all the zodiacal houses. This month you have The Lovers and II of Cups, and in combination, this speaks very strongly about your relationships and sex life. However, the IX of Wands is here to scupper your plans: covetousness and suspicion threaten to creep in at the edges. As a result, guard against paranoia and metal fantasies. Instead, be open and honest about any worries or qualms you have with a significant other.
Knight of Wands, VII of Pentaclesm, The Hanged Man
As natural-born seekers and explorers, the lockdown has been harder for Sagittarians than others. The King of Wands expresses this concept also: his eye is fixed on the horizon, looking towards the next opportunity and prospect. But this is frustrated with the appearance of The Hanged Man, meaning you could be going nowhere fast. Do not be crestfallen: this is a wonderful time for contemplation, reflection and getting your affairs in order. So, use this month as a chance to plan long-term goals and ideals.
IX of Wands, King of Wands, V of Pentacles
There is little that Capricorns like more than forward movement and progress, especially when it comes from the result of their hard work and application. Yet, the IX of Wands appears again this month! The IX of Wands has a tense, battle-worn energy around it, and this will express itself in different ways, dependant on the astrological house in which it appears. This month, this unease expresses itself in feelings of lack, especially in terms of self-worth and measurable gain. So, just watch that you’re not too hard on yourself, dear sea goats, which you are wont to do at times!
The Fool, III of Swords, IX of Wands
The Fool card is welcome to see here, fellow Aquarius, as it conveys a shrugging off of the worries and cares shown in the III of Swords and IX of Wands, replaced with a sense of abandon. It will be like taking a breath of fresh air this month! And we all know how much you water bearers hate dipping your toes into emotional waters – eww! Hence, you’ll be glad to get away from all that unnecessary fretting and re-embrace your liberty and autonomy. So, whatever you do, don’t sweat the small stuff.
VI of Wands, The High Priestess, Queen of Wands
I’m pleased to see The High Priestess in your cards this month for you, Pisces – for it exalts your natural intuitive abilities. Of all the spreads for July, yours is perhaps the most positive. Especially with the appearance of the VI of Wands, a.k.a. the victory card. Subsequently, now is not a time for self-doubt and apprehension but rather to prove how capable you are. Also, just follow your gut and act upon it; to get in your head about things would be a seriously bad idea.
